One doctor in particular is so helpful and kind, I cannot comment on other doctors as I always try to get appointments with the same doctor and he has always made me feel like I am a human being, not just a number.
This is a great medical practice

I am somewhat shocked, surprised and disappointed to read a few of the comments regarding a practice whom, in my opinion, work extremely hard under difficult financial and commercial constraints. In my experience over the years, I have had nothing but professional and vigilant care from all of the team at Kingsgate Medical Practise. From Linda, who does an outstanding job at reception answering calls, making appointments, looking for prescriptions, amongst a hundred other things all at the same time and listening to patients shouting and demanding at the desk. I am surprised she comes to work in the morning at all. In addition the backroom staff are all busy working hard to ensure the “care machine” is kept running smoothly. With regards to the doctors, the practise has an outstanding group of professionals who work tirelessly over extremely long hours to ensure all patients are seen and cared for to the highest standard. They make themselves available “if we” consider it an emergency without question. If we are in any doubt about the care we are given… try not having it on tap when we need it, 24 hours a day. Only my view, but keep up the brilliant work, each and every member of staff are exceptional and deserve more.
Average which is better than the last one in West Lothian I was at.

I feel the other reviews on here are wholly unfair and this practice manages as best it can with the limited resources at its disposal. It may have escaped people's notice but the NHS in general is hugely underfunded and no NHS medical practice anywhere in the country has unlimited resources either to answer phones on the first ring, see patients at half an hour's notice or dole out drugs and prescriptions willy-nilly. My experience of this practice is for the most part positive; if I need an appointment I can get one the same day - albeit I have to ring first thing in the morning and keep trying till I eventually get through. I'm usually seen no later than maybe ten minutes after my appointment time and the doctors (and receptionists) are respectful, pleasant, efficient and knowledgeable. So basically if you want to phone up and expect YOUR call (amongst the hundreds of others) to get through immediately or to phone at one o'clock in the afternoon and be seen the same day, you might be disappointed. Otherwise, all reasonable people will understand that they have a usable and dependable service, free at the point of use and will appreciate that everyone involved in the practice is doing the best he or she can with the resources available.

I'm not sure what people's expectations are of a palliative nursing home but I can honestly say that my Mum and all our family have nothing but good positive feedback for Tippethill. The staff were all friendly and nothing was ever a bother for them. They treated her with kindness and consideration. Their facility is clean, fresh smelling and bright. We would like to say a big thank you to all who helped look after Mum.
